Hi! I'm Mira, an independent artist from Southern California. I've always been drawn to interesting and poetic music from all different artists, and have taken inspiration from genres such as Indie, Alternative, Grunge, Shoegaze, and Dream pop. It's that attention to poetry that really drives the connection between the listener and the artist. I aspire to be that kind of artist. I want people to resonate with my sound and be able to find their own emotions hiding beneath the surface.
I've been writing songs since elementary school and grew my knowledge on lyricism and melodies through the piano at home. When I was 16, my stepdad offered to give me his guitar, a classical guitar. I started messing around every so often until I eventually developed my style. When I was 9, I used my dad's computer t0 make songs on Garageband. In high school, I took on two jobs to buy a laptop to start producing. 4 years later, I have over 30 demos and two songs released, and am still actively working on my own to release more. It's been empowering to have been able to produce my songs and see my growth. I want to get better at expressing what I'm feeling with every new song.
Music also runs deeply through my family. With my Grandfather, Bill Evans, being so prominent in Jazz, and even now with my dad composing music for movies, and my mom a piano teacher. Growing up around music gave me a strong foundation and helped me see music not only as an emotional outlet, but as a career I could build for myself.
When I’m not making music, I’m usually creating in other ways. I have a huge love for fashion and photography, and I’m always looking for opportunities to bring those interests into my work. Whether I’m planning a photoshoot with friends, thrifting on the weekend, or sharing ideas through social media, expressing myself visually makes me feel alive. For me, the music, imagery, and style are all part of the same world.
